As I reflect on the photo shoots these past two weeks I can't help but to think about the different addresses I added into my Waze app. From taking pictures for an up-and-coming artist for a hot single in North Miami, to heading over to a man-made beach to capture beautiful birthday portraits, to scaling rooftops and walking through alley ways, then finishing on the Beach by South Pointe Pier. I was all over Miami with my camera and I loved every second of it.
"Look into my eyes I know you see a difference..." is just one of the hard hitting lines coming from this South Florida artist named Mudlife Purp. Last week I was able to catch the release of his recent single that debuted and played at a popular club located in South Florida called The Office. It was nice seeing a local artist receive the love and support from closed friends and witnessing everyone in the club vibe to his music that played through the club's speakers. I'm glad I was there to capture some candid shots of mellow and chill moments as the night went on and experience the energy as the venue played his music. From the speakers of a club, to the audio coming from your headphones, be sure to look out for this artist.
The words "Do your pose Skyler..." with smiling and laughter ensuing afterwards was an occurring theme during this photo shoot. A couple of days after taking photos in North Miami, I found myself traveling to Matheson Hammock Park located off of Old Cutler Road to take birthday portraits. Although it was cloudy and a little windy, I was able to capture great pictures with the lighting we were blessed with. The upcoming birthday girl already had her go-to poses in mind; both hands in the air, one hand under her chin, and she even jumped in the air a couple of times for some action shots! Later in the shoot, we made sure to utilize the different scenery Matheson Hammock Park provided, so we finished the photo shoot in a lively area located close to the entrance of the park.
Another photo shoot in the past two weeks was located in Coconut Grove and Coral Gables. This was the third photo shoot with this model and we wanted to do two looks: One urban and the other semi-formal. With Cocowalk still being under construction we used the the small alley ways and streets that the area provided to get some vibrant yet simple shots. To end the photo shoot, we finished at the top floor of a garage located in Coral Gables. From keeping it simple by posting up against a wall to mounting on top of a pillar to get a shot with Downtown Miami in the background, we made sure we got some creative shots with the vantage point we had.
To conclude my last week before the New Year, I finished with an engagement session located in South Pointe Park, Miami Beach. Even though every engagement session is different because every couple is unique in their own way, I'm blessed to capture the love on camera because that always stays the same. Naturally holding hands and posing against a tree, to standing and laughing on a rock with the ocean in the background, this couple had fun and I snapped some beautiful candid and poses. The couple also took some pictures with their family so it was a pleasure to capture some family portraits for them as well on what was a beautiful day. 2018 has had it's ups and downs but overall I'm thankful to say it's been an amazing journey and I'm looking forward to what 2019 brings. As always, thank you for reading and have a blessed and happy New Year!
